Sophmores Place 4th in the City Championship!!!!!

Corey Simmons Wins City Champ MVP Honors

"The Flight Academy"Corey Simmons won the Triple Jump with a jump of 41' 9" setting a *New Meet Record.* Corey also placed 1st in the 300 meter run with a time of 37.4 seconds. Joseph Cruz had a difficult and uncharacteristic day but still kicked in a 3rd place finish in the 55 meter Hurdles with a time of 8.5 seconds. Ariel Pastoriza and Loreno Smith both tried to fight off the armies.

"The High Milers"Carlos Riveria and Angel Alsina had difficult races, but did what they could to keep the other teams honest.

"The Flying Bricks" Israel Vazquez had worked his butt off all year, and his hard work paid off. He placed 1st in the Shot-Put with a throw of 42'1". Jude Monestime let off a few great throws but they landed foul.

Freshmen Place 2nd in the City Championship!!!!!

"The Flight Academy" Evan Hairston, Rene Pierre and Keith Rodriguez all placed in the 55 Meter Hurdles. An excellent effort admired by the entire league. Evan Hairston placed 1st in the hurdles with a time of 8.7 and also placed 2nd in the Pole Vault with a vault of 10' 6". Rene Pierre placed 3rd in the hurdles with a time of 8.9 seconds and also placed 2nd in the Triple Jump with a jump of 36' 4.5". Keith Rodriguez placed 5th in the hurdles with a time of 9.4 seconds and also placed 2nd in the High Jump. Jelani Cummings placed 1st in the Triple Jump with a jump of 37' 3" and also placed 4th in the Long Jump with a jump of 16' 1.75" (not bad for a Baller). Marvin Alneus placed 5th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 33' 5". Andrew Clark placed 5th in the 300 meter run with a time of 40.7 seconds. Chris Ortega and Hector Herrera gave it all they had in the jumping events.

"The High Milers"The runners had a difficult day of competition which was felt by both Sophmores and Freshmen. John Cormincian, Yeffry Mejida and Alvin Rey ran as well as they could yesturday, and tried to stop the other schools.

"The Flying Bricks"Robert McCoullach had some good throws but the foul bug was going around and Robert was infected. Jason Quionnes just didn't have the big throw today were hoping for a next time.
