Varsity Places Seventh in the New York Archdiocese


"The Flight Academy" The jump team had a competitive day against the best in the division. Corey Simmons placed 4th with a personal best of 41' 7" in the Varsity Triple Jump. He was teamed up with Robert Achempong who placed 5th in the Varsity Triple Jump with a jump of 41' 1/2 ". Joseph Cruz placed 3rd in the Varsity Pole Vault and placed 4th in the Varsity 55 meter Hurdles. Sean Baum placed 4th in the Varsity High Jump.



Corey Simmons Breaks The La Salle Sophmore 400 Meter School Record.


Last set in 1976 by Anthony Colon at 53.5 seconds, Corey Simmons smashed the record setting a new time of 52.4 seconds.



Freshmen Place Second in the New York Archdiocese


With five athletes out sick, the team was outmanned and almost out of luck. However, with sheer determination and focus the team still managed to fight off 11 other schools to place second.

"The Flight Academy"Rene Pierre placed 1st in the Triple Jump with a jump of 36' 9"and 1st in the 55 meter Hurdles with a time of 8.7 seconds. Kieth Rodriguez placed 1st in the High Jump with a jump of 5'8" and 3rd in the 55 meter Hurdles with a time of 9.8 seconds . Jelani Cummings placed 3rd in the Triple Jump with a jump of 35' 6". Christopher Ortega placed 5th in the Tiple Jump with a jump of 33' 0". Hector Herrea placed 5th with a vault of 8' 0".

"The High Milers" Andrew Clark placed 4th in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.2. John Cormincian placed 2nd in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:36.4. Alvin Rey placed 4th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:18.9. Alvin Rey, John Cormincian, Jelani Cummings and Alfred Jordan teamed up to place 4th in the Distances Medely Relay with a time of 9:36.9
